something so simple that will wow ur guests… and urself :)
stuffed mushrooms
ingredients:
1# ground italian sausage [i like to use hot]
16-20oz button or crimini mushrooms
4oz gouda cheese, shredded
1 bunch chives, minced
olive oil, as needed
2/3 cup breadcrumbs [i like to use panko]
s&p, tt
red pepper flakes [optional and tt]
2 tsp dehydrated onion
2 tsp garlic powder
directions:
preheat oven to 375F. grab a sauté pan and brown the italian sausage. while that is browning, prep ur mushrooms by removing their stems, finely chopping them, and setting to the side. line mushrooms up on a baking sheet.
now it’s time to make the filling - start by grabbing a large bowl and add literally everything to it - including the cooked sausage and its fat plus those mushrooms stems u just chopped. mix together with ur hands. for when it says ‘olive oil as needed’ - it just depends on how much fat ur sausage produced. u may need to add more or less.
anyway, fill each mushroom cap mounded with filling. top with more shredded gouda or really any cheese that u would like and drizzle with olive oil. bake for 15ish mins. remove from oven and please enjoy.
